Via MATRIXSYNTH Import.flv (23.2 MB)

by Dr Gooi Tah Choe and Darren Ng (a.k.a. sonicbrat) Photography stops time. Music extends it. Can these two interpretations of time be one? Inter-woven by an oxymoron, PING:II explores this "limbo" in time/space through a jigsaw of two contradicting, yet related mediums. Musicians Darren Ng and Gooi Tah Choe present a discussion with audio-visual works of a joined creative process that crosses sight and sound. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO & TICKETING DETAILS

Love the way she plays... her techniques are different from the purist school of etherwave theremin playing... Via Matrixsynth Import.flv (13.7 MB)
I was invited by Dickson Dee from Hong Kong to perform in this sound/noise festival in Hanoi ( Hanoi Sound Stuff). A last minute invitation that happened today as Dickson had tried to get me and finally got to do so from my friend in China (Hong Qile), whom I am working on a sound art collaboration project called " Bi-aleatory" or simply, " Bi-a" ( http://www.myspace.com/bialeatory or http://www.neocha.com/bi_a). Supposedly if I can go, I'll be flying coming Thu and perform on Fri and back by Sat or Sun... BUT, I have Pinocchio Complex rehearsals, the last two rehearsals, which are crucial rehearsals. So painfully, I had to say no to this opportunity. * SOBS* I REALLY WANT TO GO!!! I REALLY WANT TO GO!!! T_T Hopefully, I'll be invited again to elsewhere the next time round.
In any case, I am really glad to be in touch with Dickson Dee, I have heard so much about him and his works. Just that it's a pity things can't happen this time round. He'll be in Singapore coming week so hopefully can meet up with the man himself soon.
PS: The poster is not the final one, but drafted... so I believe the design would be nicer and more artists involved... just what Dickson had sent me...
Yes, deadline on Monday for the re-run of THE PILLOWMAN by SRT. I won't be able to play live this time round because I will be at TFP's PINOCCHIO COMPLEX... which, but the way, is sold out! It was sold out since last week. Now, that's hot. Glad for TFP. They had made a name for themselves over the years. And was chatting with Woan Wen the other day about how TFP works like a "family"... really, it's very nice working in TFP. Love it...
So I had just finished recording music for ACT1, taking a break now (recording it is harder than playing live I realized!!!)... spent about 2 hours setting up, another 3 hours just to record the first 50min of the show! (This show is 3 hours)... ACT2 is music/sound heavy. I must get it done tonight, so that by tomorrow I'll have time to mix-down and master to CD, not to mention I need to prepare the cue sheets! Bleaghh... I hate logistics!!!
Anyway, watching the VCD of The Pillowman (for recording reference) brought back many fond memories for that production. My toilet's light had been out for 3-4 days and I've been bathing in the dark with a red candle light (woooooooo)... I need time to go get the bulb!!! Meantime, it's romantic red candle light bubble baths for me!!! Here's a song that I've recently did for my Quiet Windows project, hope you all will enjoy it :) ... a l e a t o r i c l u l l a b y
A live recording of my improvisation concert @ Lasalle on 22/01/2008. Hope you guys will enjoy it. Free downloads available soon.
A live improvisation set at a lunchtime concert. All instrumentations were sampled, manipulated and processed live with KP3 and RC-20 into various effects processors. All percussions were done on the electric guitar. Only three instruments were used: 1) Toy Xylophone; 2) Electric Guitar; 3) Voice; In the middle section, the sounds and noises were feedbacks caused by sending signals from the INEKO and KP3 into themselves, causing a feedback loop and manipulated with EQ live, the rest were processed sounds with Plogue Bidule and hardware effects unit of the original live sampling.
Gear List:
Toy Xylophone Electric Guitar KORG Koass Pad 3 BOSS RC-20 Loop Station Alesis Ineko Multi-efx processor Yamaha MG10/2 Mixer E-bow Mini clip-on microphone MAC Powerbook: Running Plogue Bidule Recording: KORG MR-1000

[UPDATES]: New download address due to overwhelming downloads!!!... Click HERE for the free download now.My latest project. This album was cut in 2-3 days, imperfect little pieces of electro-ambient improvisations did entirely on the KORG Triton ST88 and nothing else. I've composed this album in such a short time so that I could give it to my girlfriend who is leaving for vietnam today... as a little gift. W E A V I N G | 織造The W E A V I N G project builds on the ideology of minimalism and improvisation. The album is meant to be listened to from top till the end as a sole entity of sounds and melodies. The sub-harmonics, subliminal changes in timbres and the play of sub-frequencies and hyper-frequencies will leave your ears ringing at the end of the sonic experience.[Click on either of the images to download the entire album for free!]
Feel free to download it and if you will, drop me a note on what you think of it :) Thanks for the support! Hope you guys will enjoy the album.
